The Goulbourn
Basketball Association (GBA) obtains permits
from the school boards to use their gym
facilities and the future use of school gyms is
dependent on proper use of the gyms by all GBA
teams. If misuse or damage occurs it could
result in the GBA losing the use of the school.
All players, coaches and
parents must adhere to the following GBA gym
rules:
No players are allowed in the school facility without their coach and/or assistant coach
Only GBA registered coaches can provide supervision of players, and must be certified for the appropriate level of play
No player can leave the gym premises without coaches permission
No bouncing of basketballs in school hallways
No street shoes are to be worn in the gym by participants. Boots and overshoes must be removed by everyone,
including spectators before entering gyms
Leave the gym in same condition as when you arrived, and no equipment is to be removed from the gym
No food or drink is to be taken into the gym
Respect
the school property
No school
equipment may be used without permission
from school representative (usually the
custodian). Equipment must be returned to
its proper storage area after use. This
includes things such as basketballs, clocks,
tables, chairs etc.
Groups must assist
in set up and clean up, including tables,
chairs, clocks, picking up garbage etc
All areas of the school are off limits
except for the gym and the hallways used to
get to and from the gym
All coaches,
players and parents must leave the school
premises promptly at the end of the
allocated gym time
