U19 JUNIOR WOMEN'S ELITE LEAGUE (JUEL)

OBA has established a U19 Junior Women's Elite League (JUEL) for the season 2010-2011. This league will be comprised of 240 of the top female players in Ontario (20 teams). You can find full league details posted up at OBA's web site under Important News regarding JUEL.

After much consultation and discussion, Ottawa’s basketball community decided to take this opportunity to implement an innovative approach. For the Capital Region JUEL teams, Club “franchises” have been abandoned and instead 2 (two) regional teams have been created.

These two teams will represent the entire city of Ottawa in JUEL. Both teams will be operated in a synchronized manner overseen by the unified governance composed of: all major clubs, both universities, and other leading sport experts from the Capital Region. This will create an ideal environment for development of elite female basketball players and coaches. Teams will operate under the name of JUEL Ottawa.
