EOBA
Competitive Rep Teams
Any player who accepts a
position on a rep team is making a firm
commitment to the team, and does not qualify for
a refund of registration or competitive fees. We
encourage all potential rep team players (and
parents) to ask questions of the coaching staff
before and during try-outs, and to consider
their commitment to playing at this level before
being selected for a position on a team. This
policy is intended to ensure those who really
want to play are not displaced by those without
a firm commitment to participation.
WEBL Recreation Teams
Due to year over year
variances in gym allocations from the local
school boards, and availability of coaches on
particular evenings, practices on a specific
week night are not guaranteed.
Our efforts to balance team
numbers and ability levels, means the GBA cannot
commit to placing your child on a team
practicing on a specific evening or at a
specific location. Practice night changes can
represent a significant problem to those
juggling participation in multiple activities
and commitments. The GBA will offer a refund for
those who find they are no longer able to
participate due to conflicts with other
commitments. Refunds will be offered with the
following terms...
-
Refund request received
by October 31st - Full Refund
-
Refund request received
by November 30th - 50% refunded
-
After November 30th no
refunds will be provided
Please note that uniform and
basketball must be returned to the coach prior
to any refund being provided.
Refund requests are
to be made to the registrar directly (not
through the coach!) by email to
registration@gbahornets.com or by regular
mail to "Membership c/o Goulbourn Basketball
Association, P.O. Box 1193, Stittsville,
Ontario, K2S 1B3".
Once you have received
confirmation that a refund will be provided,
please be patient as processing refunds can take
up to 6 weeks (hopefully faster though). We
process refund cheques in batches rather than
one at a time. This approach respects our
volunteers' time in processing these refunds.
The process will seem very quick to some (at the
end of the batch), and quite slow to others (at
the beginning of the batch).
