Friday January 13, 2012 was a fitting day for the tip off of the Ottawa Winterfest Major Midget Girls Basketball Tournament. Snow and freezing rain had pelted eastern Ontario all day with several teams travelling from other areas of the province. Your Goulbourn Hornets were set to play the Dundas Dynamo to open up the tournament.

On Saturday January 13, 2012 the 2012 Arnprior Kick-Off Tournament, kicked off! This was the first tournament of 2012 and the Hornets went for it full force. The Hornets entered the tournament with a 7 game winning streak. On the heels of a gold medal win at the Chris Paulin tournament in December, they knew they could not take this tournament for granted.

The GBA Bulldogs went toe-to-toe with the PBA throughout this entire game, the first in their season! In the end the Bulldogs came up 6 points short but had fun and learned so much about coming together as a team! The Bulldogs played a strong game and should be very proud of themselves. I know I certainly am!

In the first two games of the tournament, Goulbourn produced convincing wins over the Russell Rockets (57-10) and the Ottawa Shooting Stars #1 (62-15). The last game of pool play had Goulbourn playing Ottawa South with first place in pool A on the line. Tied at half, and down only 3 heading in the final quarter, it was a very competitive game

The Goulbourn Hornets Major Bantam AA Girls basketball team played in the 18th Annual Chris Paulin Tournament Dec. 2-4, 2011 being held at Sacred Heart High School in Stittsville, Ontario. This tournament was held for many age categories and was hosted throughout Kanata, Stittsville and Barrhaven and was run by the Kanata Youth Basketball Association.More...
The Goulbourn Hornets Major Bantam Boys basketball team competed in the AAA/AA division of the 18th Annual Chris Paulin Memorial Tournament in Kanata on the weekend of December 2 – 4 and took home silver medals. This division included the top 6 major bantam teams in Ottawa and 2 teams from Quebec.
